The Business Challenge
In 2005 Allegiant Air identified a corporate goal of significantly increasing its
online sales, reduce Call Center calls, and drive
marketing efforts, while maximizing profit margins. Their website was
functional, but its online sales volume remained relatively low and the
confused customer calls volume was relatively high. The website also did not
support an easy mechanism for content management, site updates nor did it convey
the essence of the Allegiant brand which strives to make travel both more
effortless and inexpensive for spontaneous travelers.
The Predawn Solution
- Predawn helped Allegiant rebuild allegiantair.com by researching
and identifying industry best practices and enhancements possible within the
confines of the backend system capabilities and also proposed enhancements in
future releases.
- Predawn completely re-architected the User Interface
to highlight key site features and increase ease-of-use, as well as the basis
for a longer term technology plan for enhanced services to propel Allegiant Air
well ahead of the competition.
- Based on the new site roadmap Predawn re-designed the
User Interface to incorporate the same Allegiant brand and personality the
customers were accustomed to experiencing off-line. Strategic usage of images
and colors were designed to draw attention to marketing initiatives and support
customers in search of quick getaways to Allegiants main destination hubs.
- Predawn was able to separate the backend code from the
presentation layer code so that the website could be modified independently.
This established a foundation for Content Management, quick updates, more client
side validations, and detailed error reporting.
The Impact
The revamped site has seen a dramatic increase in online sales and now expresses
its brand in a clean and simple way. The Call Center
has seen a 50% reduction in customer calls. Allegiant now enjoys a fast,
stable, and very usable site.
